Estate sale goodies!

Good Monday Morning!  What an incredible, beautiful and warm weekend we had!  Was it pretty in your neck of the woods?

I took 1/2 a day off from work Friday because I had a lot of errands to run, one of them being to an estate sale that looked like it might have a few treasures and it didn't disappoint.  The first thing I grabbed were these wonderful vintage patterns!

I loved all of these!  I especially love the one that's the tennis dress because I think I can turn that into a swimsuit that I will wear.  I am very uncomfortable in swimsuits because I am so tall and leggy, so one with shorts or a skirt works best.
After rummaging in a box in the basement I found this mechanical Santa who walks and rings his bell, though he doesn't work very well, but I still liked his face and knew he belonged with me.

And you know I couldn't leave this little guy there!  Yay!  One more pixie to add to the collection.  Don't you just love his ears?
I don't collect sifters, I don't collect sifters, I don't collect sifters.
I have 3, is that a collection?  Look at the colors of this, turquoise and gold.
These may have been my favorite find.  Christmas Idea books that date from the mid 1950's to the late 1960's.  You have no idea how much I have loved looking at those!
And a couple of Needlecraft and House and Garden, all from the early 1970's, which I don't consider antique at all as I remember those days quite fondly, thank you very much!

I spent my afternoons this weekend sewing and have 3 pairs of shorts and a new dress to show for it, though I haven't taken photos of them yet.  But it was so nice to throw open the windows and sew and sew.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Blessings

Linda

SQUEAL! Love those Christmas idea books!!! That pixie is absolutely adorable. I haven't seen those colors before...most green/red. I wish I could sew. Those patterns are just wonderful. Looks like it was a great estate sale!

Love all your great finds Linda...been doing lots of oohing and ahhing here. Terrific old patterns. How great that you actually make and wear things from them, love that!

I bet you had a blast going through those Christmas craft books...super find! Love your new cute pixie and Santa, and that little sweet angel peeking from behind the Santa. Amazing that the Santa still works, I'm a little slower now too. :)

Enjoyed the same gorgeous weather here, changing tomorrow night so it can threaten all our spring blooms, dag-nab-it!

I do collect sifters and I would have nabbed that in a hurry. Really unique. Yes, three is a collection, at least a start. I think I only have 3 or 4 myself. I have some hanging on a red mug rack in the basement farmhouse kitchen. Santa is so comical and yes, you needed that pixie!
hugs,
