Cherries, Cherries, and More Cherries!

This years cherry crop has been outstanding thanks to my sweet cat Midnight! She keeps the birds away so they can't steal my cherries before I can pick them.
Dear husband picked this bowl and another like it full night before last and I made these cherry preserves, his favorite.

Last night I picked 3 buckets full! I plan to make a couple of pies tonight and freeze the rest. There is still probably another two buckets full on the tree that needs to ripen just a little more.

Do y'all have any good cherry recipes to share?

Blessings

Linda

OH YUM! Cherries don't last long enough around here for me to do anything but snack on them. They are my FAVORITE healthy snack!

I always season my taco from meat from scratch - I can control the salt and heat that way. My friend's DH won't eat tacomeat either way so she seasons his with just a little tomatoe pastem garlic and chili powder and calls it chili meat! LOL

Enjoy your cherries! hugs, Linda

Oh just send the cherries right over and I "promise" I'll send them back in a delicate pastry . .

If you look on the sidebar or OUR cooking blog. Betty's fruit roll would be spectacular with these. .oh my mouth is watering. . .

good job cat. .

I have one idea! Do you have an ice cream maker? Think cherry vanilla!

No recipes...but an appetite for them! I so regret that cherry trees are not to be found in Texas, and the stuff in the markets don't even come close to fresh picked, an activity I have enjoyed on a few occasions.

Chomp a fresh picked cherry for me!

OH my goodness. I love cherries.
MMMNN! I can't wait now to go to the store and pick some up.
As well as strawberries and waterelon and cantelope.

Just catching up on your site a bit.
I haven't been around blog land much at all these last 4 months.
I did have a full time job outside the home and was so busy. Now I am back home now. As the job didn't work out. Stop by my site sometime when you have time. I've posted about it as well as I'm trying to update everyone on our last 4 months.

Gosh, the half dozen cherries on my little tree (which I have to beat the birds to!) make me envy your bumper crop! You HAVE been working hard.
