Friday Show and Tell

Kelli over at http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ is hosting Friday Show and Tell. This always so much fun. Head on over and join the fun!
This week for show and tell I have one of my thrift store finds. A couple of weeks ago at the Rescue Mission thrift shop, I found this old rocker for $3.00! When I took it home both Dear husband and son turned up their noses. "just you wait and see" I told them.

I took the chair up to my husbands show and sanded, and sanded, and then sanded some more. A couple of coats of red paint and voila!! A really cute red chair for my front porch.
I made the pillow last week too. This was made from an old dish towel that my Grandmother gave me. I love the print on it and knew I had to use it somehow other than as a dishtowel.
I am going to do a double show and tell because you just have to see this tomato! I really need to do a commercial for miracle grow!!
This is going to make a delicious sandwich for my lunch! Yum! Can't hardly wait. Hmm, maybe I won't wait!!!
Hope everyone has a great week-end!

Blessings!

Linda

Ok now I'm green with envy. The drought and moving my garden to a different spot played havoc on my tomatoes this year. Great job! Great job on the rocker also. Thank you for sharing.

I love tomato sandwiches! In fact, I put tomato, onion, and cucumber on a nice piece of french bread or a wrap with hummus and feta cheese. Woo yoo! I'm commin' fer lunch!!!

Your rocker is adorable. And you rescued it from certain doom. I'll bet that really brightens up the porch - and it matches your tomato!!!

Now I'll have to look for an old rocker like that! As if I didn't have enough projects waiting to be addressed! lol

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! Oh, and when we decided to move back South, I was deciding between the Roanoke and Asheville areas. If I'd seen Roanoke in the daytime, that might have been our final destination. As it is, we've just passed by on the way to visit DD at W&L. Beautiful country!

I LOVE your red rocker! I had to laugh though when I read your hubby had turned up his nose at it. I can so relate to that! My hubby just can't see the beauty in "junk" I bring home until I get ahold of it! Then his tune changes! LOL

The tomatoe actually made me want to go fix a mater and mayo sandwich! But I don't have any good tomatoes in the house right now. I don't have a garden, but enjoy stopping by the little veggie stands along side the road.

I want to tell you that I think the rocker and pillow are wonderful. However, you are downright MEAN showin' us that mater. I have been DYING for a mater sandwich and so far only 2 cherry tomatoes have ripened.

Your chair is so darling. And the pillow is awesome. I was given my husband's grandmother's sewing machine last week. What would be a good beginners project?

I love how your rocker turned ou! Red was a fantasic color choice and the pillow you made is too cute. I can't so sew, so I'm really impressed!

Oh I love your rocker! You did a wonderful job fixing it up and I love the red color! The pillow is a real treasure and inspires me to use some old linens for things like that, rather than having them in storage.
