Happy Birthday Mom

Today would have been my mothers 67th Birthday.
My mother passed away in 1977 after a hard battle with Leukemia. She was only 37 years old.

The last year of her life was spent in the University of Virginia medical center. Back then, they did not have the ability to do chemotherapy in our area hospitals. If was so hard having our mother 4 hours away. I was 16 years year old and my sister was 11.

They say "time heals all wounds". I say it doesn't heal them. It just dulls them.

I still miss her every day.

Linda

I'm so sorry you lost your mom at such an early age! I lost my mom to cancer seven years ago & so often wish I could share things with her.

Blessings to you today.

I thought my dad was young when he died at 48 years old, your mom was even younger yet! I'm so sorry for your loss and I agree with you, time doesn't heal all wounds, it just dulls them. Today on her birthday, I send up a little prayer to her. xox

PS..Linda, can you please email me your home address? I need it for the Halloween Swap, thank you!! My email is carole_57@hotmail.com

It's tough to lose your Mom at any age, but you were just a child.
My Mom has only been gone about 5½ years. I miss her every day of my life..

That is a lovely photo of your Mother. It is so sad for both you and your mother that she lost her life so young. In some ways, I'm sure you miss her more and more. So many things you would have loved to share with her, and now you are past her age and must wonder how she would have looked, felt and acted at the same age. I hope that in some way she knows the wonderful daughter you have become. Remember her with love on her birthday, as you do every day.

Thank you for visiting my blog, LBP. I hope you enjoyed your 'walk' among the tulips. Perhaps they lifted your spirits a little.

Alice.

I haven't lost my mother yet, but recently lost my grandmother and grandfather in the past year. It got me to thinking about how much my mother means to me and how much I would miss her if she were to pass. I'm so sorry you lost your mother at such a young age. I'm sure she has been with you in some way all along and looking out for you and yours. I hope you remember her on her bday with love and laughter and remember all the good times.

((Linda)) ~ Your mother was beautiful. The way you speak of so tenderly says much about her.

Some events in life divide life into "before" and "after" ... time does not change that.

I just have to comment on this post too. This has touched my heart as your mother would have been my age. I'm glad you have such a beautiful photo of the two of you together. My prayers are with you.
