Friday Show and Tell!

Each Friday Kelli over at http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ hosts show and tell. Click on over there and join the fun.
This week I would like to show you two cake plates that I made! I saw these while surfing around some craft blogs and thought "What a great idea".
They are very simple. All you need is a pretty plate, a glass candlestick and some glue that bonds glass. Find the center of the bottom of your plate and mark it with a marker. Spread the glue on top of the candlestick and just stick it on and let it dry 24 hours. That's it! This is what I am going to make to put my Christmas goodies on this year. I got the plate and the candlestick at a thrift store for .50 each. So for $1.00 you have a lovely gift!
Of course you will want to decorate them with Double Decker Confetti Brownies! YUM!
1 1/2 sticks of butter softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 tea vanilla
2 1/2 cups self rising flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 cup semi sweet mini m&m's (I can't find these any more so I used regular M&M's)

Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 pan. Set aside. In a large bowl cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy; beat in eggs and vanilla. Add 2 1/4 cupsflour a little at a time and blend ito creamed mixture. Divide batter in half. Blend together melted butter and cocoa powder and stir into one half of the dough. Spread dough evenly into the bottom of the pan. Stir in remaining 1/4 cup of flour and 1/2 cup M & M's into remaining dough. Spread dough evenly over cocoa dough in the pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 M & M's. Bake 25-30 minutes or until edges start to pull away from pan. Cool completely and cut into bars. Store in tightly covered container.
Hope everyone has a blessed day!
Linda

What a wonderful idea! May I ask what brand of glue you used? I'm sure they are hand-wash only?
