Friday Show and Tell

Kelli over at http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ hosts Friday Show and tell each week. Click over and join the fun.

This week I am sharing this gentlemen's collar box. I bought this at an auction many years ago. Even though it is in poor condition, I really liked it. There was even some collars and cuffs still in the box along with cute little bow tie.

And when I opened the bottom of the box:
There were some old silver certificates!
I don't keep the box out on display because I am afraid it will deteriorate further. Hope you enjoyed my show and tell.
Oh, by the way if you enjoy creating tablescapes and are looking for some great fall recipes, head over the Heidis blog http://foxglovesfabricandfolly.blogspot.com/. and sign up to be on her Tablescapes and Recipes show tomorrow! Can someone tell me how to make the photos for Kellis and Heidi's blogs work when you click on the photo? thanks
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend
Linda

I have never seen a box like that. It's funny I never realized that a gentleman would need such a box, but I suppose they must have. They dressed up all the time and needed those speciall touches handy for them. Really neat show and tell. Kathi

Oh, how special. I've never seen a box like that but I do remember seeing those collars at my Grandpas.

That is such a neat piee. I love antiques, as my mom used to collect them extensively when I was growing up. I think it's so fun to actually explore items from past ages. Thanks for visiting Shore's End.

What an unusual find and complete with some collars and certificates! That's almost like the guy who found an original draft of the Decoration of Independence behind a painting he bought-well almost! : )
Thanks for stopping by my blog too.
