This weeks show and tell is actually quite shameful! Last night while I was looking around for my fall decorations, I found this pop-up haunted house.
When I was in the 2nd grade ( 1969), my teacher Mrs. Udell told us she had a special prize and showed us this haunted house. I knew from the minute I laid eyes on this haunted house, I had to have it. No matter what it took! To win the haunted house, Mrs. Udell told us to put our heads down on our desks and close our eyes while she hid several construction paper pumpkins.
Well you probably have guessed by now that I cheated. I just squinted my eyes and watched her hide all the pumpkins! When she told everyone GO! I ran right to all the hiding places and found the most pumpkins, so I got the haunted house! The sad part of this is that I felt no remorse! I HAD TO HAVE THAT HAUNTED HOUSE!
38 years later, everytime I get this haunted house out for Halloween, I remember how I won it and feel just a little guilty. But not much!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week-end.
Blessings
Linda

Linda,
The haunted house is very cool. Ahh the things we do to get what we want. Life long lessons to learn. Blessings on you...

It is funny how guilty feelings can still surface.
Cute story and it shows who you are to confess you did wrong to win the haunted house. I think many of us at that age would have done the same thing. We cannot change our past but we can by choice not let it happen again in our future. ;)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend also.
I love the house, maybe you will feel better now that you "confessed" Giggle. I wouldn't worry to much about how you got it, I would almost bet you weren't the oly kid in the class that peeked.
Cute fall decoration, and the story you tell makes it even more special :)
I wouldn't feel too guilty, you're probably not the only one who tried to cheat! lol If someone else had won it, it might have been thrown away long ago...you've kept it in perfect shape all those years:-) xo
Oh, what a scary house... ;-)))
Sorry for that last short comment, I pressed the pubish button too fast!
What a scary house I thought at first - but a lovely story that is behind!
Thank you so much for your weeky visits to my blog, I always appreciate your nice comments - although I to not always have enough time to visit you back!
Have a wonderful week-end, Linda! We will attend an autumn garden outdoor fair tomorrow! I am already very excited, click here: http://www.herbstfestival-herrenhausen.de/ and look at the photos, doesn't they look very promising? Cross your fingers that I'll find something neat for the garden and comming fall!
Best wishes from Germany, Anita
What an intricate little haunted house. No wonder you wanted it so badly!
Cool old haunted house. I think it is time you let the guilt go! You were only 8 years old! I just home none of your old classmates reads your blog and comes to hunt you down.....Ha! :0)
I like your Blog spot!
Have a great weekend, Sharon
Hi :) Thanks for stopping by my blog :)
That is one neat Haunted House pop-up! Congrats on "winning" it,...
What a great story.
Cute fall decoration. I'm itching to get more of my stuff out and go and buy some new things.
Cute story, kids will be kids.
Isn't it funny what will grab the interest of a child? Thanks for sharing your honesty about it. Many wouldn't.
What a neat fall decoration! Thanks for your honesty in the story!

I love your haunted house. I know it's early for Halloween, but we've already put up some of our decor and we already made a batch of cookies. When your 3 year old looks up at you with big, blue eyes and asks to make cookies with you, how can you resist? :)
Hey, confession is good for the soul. Probably you weren't the only one peeping...you just ran faster...I love the story behind your treasure.
