This week I would like to show you my pond and my springtime "friends"! Sorry for the dark photo, I took this picture early this morning. My dear husband built this pond beside our front porch even though I was pretty skeptical of the idea. I was afraid it would draw mosquitos. But we have a very "green" and "organic" way to get rid of the mosquitos.
These guys are very effective against mosquitos and all flying insects and the best part about having them inhabit our pond is their mating call at night. That can lure me to sleep in about a minute. Almost every night I go out on the porch with my coffee or tea and sit in the dark and listen.
And I am so excited that my allium has bloomed! I first saw the allium on Anita's blog ( click on Anita on my blog roll) and was totally intrigued with it so I ordered some and planted them this past fall.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

love the allium and your pest patrol!
Linda,
What delightful garden friends. I posted my frog/toad pictures as well today. Great minds think alike! :)
I love your toads or are they frogs? I think they are so cute. I used to collect frogs (not live ones) when I was a child. Nice show and tell.
BEAUTIFUL!!! I can almost hear the frogs.......this would be a piece of heaven, you'd probably find me there all the time, enjoying the ambiance.
My show n tell has a "mother's day" theme, I sure hope you can stop by if you have time.
Happy Friday.
I'm sure your pond is a great place to relax as well as a place of beauty to welcome your visitors to your front door. Great frog pictures too!
:)
That little single allium blossom looks like a 4th of July firework bursting in the night sky *s*
Your pond is great! Your pictures are great of the frogs. Have a great weekend!
What a gorgeous pond! That is a very friendly mosquito patrol. Great post. It's so nice to see what you've done to beautify your place.

I love your pond, your friends and your flowers.
What a great S&T! I enjoyed seeing your pond and friends! Do the friends have names?

Wonderful pictures! The allium is gorgeous.
We have a pond right outside our back door. My son gets so excited when we find frogs in there. Last year we got big tadpoles and he raised his own it was a lot of fun.
I've seen the alliums on two different blogs now I will have to try them too they are beautiful.
I love the bubble throat picture. And alliums are one of my favorite flowers. They keep so long cut too. T~
Your frog patrol is on duty. That's a great way to take care of misquitos. Sitting with your coffee and listening would be so rewarding after a long day and peaceful. Thank you for visiting me. I'll come back to visit you again too.
Kathi
Your pond is wonderful. What a great way to unwind at the end of the day! Enjoy!
hugs, Linda
I'm so excited to see your beautiful pond and cute "misquito eater." :0) I've always wanted a bullfrog to come live at my water garden, but I think it's too small. I also loved seeing your allium!
Happy Mother's Day!
