Kelli at http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ is hosting show and tell, so click over and see everyone's treasures!
This week I would like to show you my caster or condiment set. These were used around the turn of the century and were a must on holiday tables.
A silver plated round holder, holds serveral bottles that are all shaped differently. From what I have been able to learn the bottles not only contained salt and pepper, but vinegar, something called "pepper sauce" sometimes ketchup, olive oil, etc.. I also spins so that you can reach the bottle that you want.Wishing everyone a fun and safe holiday weekend!
Blessings
Linda

what a beautiful collection!
Oooh, love it!
Oh, it's a lovely treasure, Linda! I love your idea of using it this coming Thanksgiving!

How very cool! So neat that every bottle is different, and you have the whole set. I'm sure they are going to look beautiful filled!
Hi Linda -
What a treasure! I love the unique toppers on each glass bottle. I think they'd be lovely on your Thanksgiving table this year!
How delicately beautiful! If I owned them I would probably just display them, too. Using them for thanksgiving seems like a good idea, but do you have young children running around your house that day? That would make me nervous :-)
My grandmother's house was very Victorian and those look like they would have fit right in. Lovely! Have a great weekend!
Hi Linda, This antique "condiment holder" is just beautiful!!! I think something this pretty needs a much fancier name! :)...So glad you have contacted your partner!...I am so happy to be hosting this swap!, & so thrilled you are all doing it with me! If it continues like this, I may be doing a Christmas one as well!...the plans are already being made!...Enjoy the weekend!...Heidi XO
That's a gorgeous piece. I've never seen one before. I'd definitely use it!
