This cabinet sits in a corner in my kitchen and doesn't match anything in there, and I don't care! My Dear Husband made this for me many, many years ago when our kitchen had golden oak cabinets. When we remodeled the kitchen a couple of years ago, we switched to cherry cabinets, but I still kept the oak cabinet.
Each season or holiday I decorate it with "a few of my favorite things" as the song goes. For the Christmas season it is elves (see a couple of posts below) and just general bright and happy Christmas decorations!
This is the very top shelf full of Santas of various degrees and a mouse cheerleader who just likes to hang out with her Santa Mouse friend.
I really love the Napco figurines and the red angel in the background came from a yard sale on the hottest day this past summer.
I found those old bottles of Sauers flavoring and food color in Grandma's kichen cabinets when I was cleaning out her house. The price tags are still on them one says .57 and the .49.
See that funky looking santa in the middle with the big red nose? I made him in second grade!
Those santa mugs in the front have eyes that are holographic and they look like they are winking.
Any time that I am feeling low and gloomy, all I have to do is open the doors to this cabinet and I feel better immediately.
Everyone needs to find a "happy cabinet" in their lives. What's yours?
Blessings
Linda

Wow, Linda. I remember all your lovely Christmas collection from last year, but you have some new (old)things, don't you?
I like the idea of a happy cabinet. I tend to keep things I enjoy looking at all over the place.

HI there...I found you from Rambling Girl Blog...and then I noticed you are from Virginia! I was born and Raised in Fredericksburg and just came back from there...I am now in Georgia. One day I will find my way back to Virginia...if I will be able to afford housing there. IT has really gotten expensive there. LOVE LOVE your HAPPY CABINET!
Happy Holidays!
Wow, what a collection. And a great place to store it in. WE all could use a Happy Cabinet!
Hi, Linda! Oh, my! What an adorable cabniet! What a collection you have. I'd love to have that in *my* kitchen. Well, maybe not... I have a wood cook stove in my kitchen (sound like Giles?) and things get pretty yucky in there really fast!
Thanks for coming by my devotional blog! I have another one too that's just for us girls:

What a great collection Linda and it looks so great. I love to have things that I enjoy around me and that cabinet with all its Christmasy things is just great. Thx for sharing. Take care.
That little Santa Mouse at the top reminds me of Topogigio from the Ed Sullivan show *s*
Oh how much fun you must have decking that happy cabinet out each season. Mine is my red step back cupboard in my dining room. I love that piece so much. I can see if from the kitchen as I work at the stove or sink and I can still remember how giddy I was when I first brought it home many years ago!!
Hi Linda,
I love your «happy cabinet». Great collection and also a great idea!
Oh, Linda, what a fabulous collection you have...I so love all the vintage Santas and such. I can well imagine how it makes you smile to look at all those happy faces:-) xoxo
Your collection is really fin to look at. I don't have many ornaments but I also don't have a place to display them either. I have learned that we grow into our larger homes by collecting more. When I moved into this smaller one I had to do a lot of eliminating.
It's looking mighty Christmassy around your place!
It *is* a happy cabinet, Linda! I love all your special treasures!

Eveything does look fabulous and festive!!
Loved the collections...I am hoping to get some of my Christmas decor on my blog this week. Hope you are having a blessed holiday season Linda.
What a lovely idea to have a happy cabinet. I can't believe the number of Christmassy things you have in there - you are a SERIOUS collector!
What an awesome idea to do. I love your "Happy Cabinet".
