Can she make a cherry pie, Billy boy, Billy boy?

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was very relaxing. Saturday I "worked" in the vegetable garden some. I really don't think of that as work because I enjoy it so much. Then we took Yngwie wakeboarding for the first time this year. I was very surprised that the water on the lake was so warm. Then we decided to go to a music store in Lynchburg VA as Yngwie and husband wanted to look at a PA system. On the way down there we stopped at a yard sale and what I bought I couldn't believe! But, I'm saving it for Friday for Kelli's Show and Tell before I tell ya'll! Yngwie bought a bowling ball that just fit his hand for $2.00 and Dear Husband bought a set of 4 flood lights for $2.00.

Sunday when we woke up it was drizzling out but Dear Husband and I went out early anyway to pick the cherries before the birds got them. Dear husband wasn't feeling so great so we didn't go to church yesterday. Later in the morning it started raining hard and it continued all day. We really needed it! The grass was looking like it usually does in August, dried up and yellow. So we pretty much just relaxed yesterday. I sewed on my Edwardian Apron that I ordered from Sense and Sensibility patterns and actually got it all finished but the hem. I also made this yummy cherry pie from the freshly picked cherries. Doesn't look so beautiful, but it was delicious.

Hope everyone has a blessed day!
Linda

I left a comment on the cookbook post. Nothing shows with this post; no picture or text but when I came to the comments, I can bring up the text by clicking on "Show Original Post." I don't know if it is my computer or not; haven't had any problems with other posts.

We got the much needed rain (and a lot of wind) yesterday too. Thank You Barry!

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment.
We have two large cherry trees and we have to wait a while before we can pick. There seem to be lots on them though, and we will just hope that when they are ripe we will get them before the birds do..!

I don't think this year we will have many cherries on our trees as we have had an unusually late Spring and the now leaves are covered in aphids! :(NG
