Friday Show & Tell

Good Morning! Kelli athttp://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ hosts show and tell each Friday. Thanks Kelli!

Today my show and tell is about our collection of antique ogee clocks.

The first one is our favorite. It is a wooden works clock, and I love the reverse painting on the front of the horse drawn carriage.

In our almost 28 years of marriage we have collected alot of ogee clocks, most of the bought at auction sales.

The one on the right is a favorite because of the painting of Mt. Vernon, home to our first President, George Washington.

The name "ogee" comes from the bevel or ogee shape the frame of the clock is cut in.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Linda

Your clocks are wonderful. I love clocks. One of my very first blog entries was on my clocks. I have never heard the term ogee and I do not have any, but I will keep an eye out for them now.

I love old clocks - we have several . . . and none of them are set. It's such fun when someone new comes into the house and we catch them trying to figure out what time it is *s*

Love your clock collection. We have quite a few clocks but we would probably have more, but everytime I start looking at a clock, my husband says, "We have enough clocks." He's probably right, but I tend to think you can't have too many.

What a neat clock collection. I had not heard the term "ogee" -- it's fun to learn something new. :) I imagine changing them all during Daylight Savings Time coming and going is a bit of a chore.

You have a great display of clocks. How special to collect them over the years.
I counted mine after having seen several bloggers post theirs. I have about 18 clocks of different kinds--not including alarm clocks. I should post them sometime. Have a great weekend.

Hi Linda, I'm so glad you came by my blog, it led me to yours and I have enjoyed my visit! Your tulips are GORGEOUS!!! My favorite were the purple ones...and the poppies were so pretty too! Our spring has been late...it frosted just last week, so I have been late getting my plants out! I was able to work on them Saturday.

You did great at the Yard Sale at the Catholic church! That was a true bargain for $20! Don't you just love a great yard saling day? Too many times I come empty handed, but it's those great days, likes yours that keep me going back! I couldn't pick a favorite of your items...I liked them all and would have been competition had I been there! LOL!

I do hope you will come back and visit again! I'm adding you to my fav's, so that I can check back with you soon! ~Rhonda :)
