I've Been Tagged!

Trudi over at http://trinketsandtreasures.blogspot.com/ has tagged me to list 8 random facts about myself, so here goes:

1. I was in a freak car accident when I was six years old. I was asleep in the backseat of my mom's car while it was parked in my aunts driveway. A drunk driver crossed both lanes of the road, came into my aunts yard and hit mom's car. I was thrown onto the floor on that "hump" thing and my back was injured. I have had back problems ever since. The judge told the drunk driver "don't do it again" and let him go.

2. I hate to use my cell phone! My friends and family know to only call me on my cell phone if it is necessary.

3. My mom died from leukemia when I was 16 years old. It was very hard, I had an 11 year old sister. My Dad was devastated but did a pretty darn good job of being Mom and Dad. I still miss her everyday.

4. I love to play in the dirt. I love the smell of dirt, I love to feel it in my fingers, and mostly I like to plant things in the dirt and see if they will grow. I have had this gardening obsession ever since I was too young to even remember. My Dad has photos of me helping dig potatoes when I was 2.

5. I love little dolls. I like all dolls but love little dolls under 6" tall. I have boxes full of them. I can't resist buying them when I am at yard sales or thrift stores. One year I hung them on the Christmas tree. Just dolls and lights. Sounds tacky but it was really kinda cool!

6. My Mother in law taught me to sew. Everybody in my family sewed but no one really ever had time to teach me. Once I learned, it was like a whole new world for me. I love being able to look at skirt at the store for $75.00 then go home and make it for $10.

7. I love to cook! I wish I had more time to pursue this. I work full time so the morning and evening meals are pretty rushed. But on week-ends I get to cook alot if I wish.

8. Last but not least, I have the greatest husband and son on the earth! Dear husband and I have been married for 27 years and I love him more every year. Our son is 15 years old and unlike most teens, he is a delight to have around. He's witty, compassionate, loving and kind.

So there's probably more than you ever wanted to know about me!

If you're reading this, consider yourself tagged!

Have a blessed day
Linda

That was fun to read and learn some new things about you.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I bet that was hard to loose her at a young age.

That was a freak accident. Sorry to hear about your back problems. I know that it is no fun...as I've been in 3 car accidents before. I have back problems that will affect me for the rest of my life too.

HI!
I am glad that you stopped by my new blog. I missed you!!!
Your 7 things list was very heartfelt and sweet. Your mom's death had to be hard on all of you. I am glad to read that your MIL is doing better!!! I wish I would have stuck to sewing instead of decorating cakes. I love your garden photos. Your are the Queen gardener!
Blessings to you.

Linda, there was not one speck too much info.
What interesting facts. It never ceases to amaze me how each person has a different and heart felt story to tell. I rejoice with you in the fact that your son is a treat to have around. Yeah to sons.
I'm starting on a dress today . ..wish me luck.

Hi Linda,
Thanks for the visit today! I enjoyed reading your list and learning a bit more about you. I'm sorry you lost your Mom at such a tender age. There is, however, no "good age" to lose one's mom.
I find it so interesting to find common threads of interest that bind us to our blogging friends. My Mom died about 5 yrs ago, but she was the most wonderful seamstress and I wish I had inherited her talent. It sounds like you have a true gift for sewing!
Please stop in and visit me anytime..
hugs!

In answer to your question: I would be honored if you would link to me!

I hope you enjoy the fudgscicles. I must tell you-there is another super easy recipe for them that is *might* be even a bit more creamy. Maybe.

All you do is mix a box of pudding mix and recommended milk, and make as you would pudding-then pour into freezer pop containers. They are delicious too. But I really like things that are made from ingredients you ALWAYS have and so I like the other recipe lots too.

Enjoy!

(PS. LOVED your garden photographs. Oh-that WATER LILY! Someday I will have a real pond and not just a makeshift pollywog pond from a pool!) :-)

*sigh* I'd love to learn how to sew, that's my one regret!

I so enjoyed learning more things about you! Oh dear, I can't believe that the judge let that drunk driver off with a slap on the wrist...there's just no justice in this world! I can imagine how much you miss your mom and how hard it must have been on your dad. My dad was only 48 years old when he died 28 years ago and I still miss him too! xoxo

Wonderful answers! I know how hsrd it is to lose your mother when you are young. I was almost seven when my mother died in her sleep from an aneurysm. Those dads sometimes just have to step up! Mine did the best he could with two grown children and two youmg ones.

I envy your talent for growing things.
